Pata Pata

HISTORY

The PATA PATA brand was established in Kenya by Bata in 1981. We saw the opportunity for the PATA PATA brand in RSA, and negotiated to purchase the brand from Niven Clothing in 2014. Since then, our product development centre in Guangzhou, China, have designed a new collection of thongs, now branded PATA PATA which will be distributed globally by Bata companies. With the tagline “FEELING GOOD” we plan to position Pata Pata in the RSA market as a quality branded thong at an affordable price.

I was responsible for all the marketing material for Pata Pata. I re-invented and re-made the corporate identity for the brand, keeping within the tagline of "feeling good". Below is a brief overview of the brand in-store advertising.

Bickz Shoot

A brand extension of Bata Industrials is Bickz. Bickz offers the same safety and comfort in their footwear as Bata Industrials, however in a stylish alternative. I was responsible for the photography of the products and designing posters, adverts and email signatures with the imagery.

Bata Industrials Instore Display

As a result of Bata Industrials growth a few of their large customers and independent stores has allocated floor space to Bata Industrials. I was responsible for coming up with shop fittings for them. Below are a example of the stands which i came up with.

Power Instore Display Stand

I was pitched a idea from one of our ad agencies to conceptualize some distribution bins to be used in store. The concept had to hold stock in the bottom and display product at the top, either in the form of a header or product on a stand/shelf. Below are a few options which I came up with. Option A was their final choice as it was the most cost effective.

Showroom Headers

A small project which I recently worked on is the showroom headers. Each of the inhouse brands has their own demarcated area in the show room, I was responsible for designing the headers for each area.

Bata Industrials - Builders Signage

This year Bata Industrials is branching out and coming in at full force. They have gained more recognition and exposure in the safety footwear environment. As a result of this Builders chain store has given Bata Industrials their own demarcated area in store. I had the privilege of designing and developing the Headers and shelf splitters for this.
